Questions and answers
Scope and timelines
How long will my project take?
It depends on the scope, how quickly content and feedback come back, and how many revision rounds are used. We give a realistic schedule with your quote, after discovery, rather than a generic number up front.
What do you need from me to start?
A clear idea of what you want the site or app to do, any brand assets or existing content you have, and a point of contact who can give feedback and approvals. We work out the rest together in the discovery step.
Can you work from our existing design or brand?
Yes. If you have designs, a component library or brand guidelines we build to them. If you only have a rough direction, design can be part of the project.
Do you take on small changes to an existing site?
Yes. Send the change you need and we will quote it as a one-off, starting from the fixes-and-small-changes rate on the pricing page. Larger ongoing work is better suited to a care plan.
Working together
How many revision rounds are included?
It varies by package — from one round on a landing page to two or three on larger sites. The number for your project is written into the quote, and further rounds can be added at an hourly rate.
Who owns the work when it is finished?
You do. On final payment, the code, content and access to hosting and third-party accounts are transferred to you. Custom plugins and modules are delivered with their source and documentation.
Will the site be accessible and fast?
That is part of how we build. Pages are keyboard and screen-reader operable, use semantic markup, and are measured against Core Web Vitals during the build rather than checked once at the end.
Can we host the site ourselves?
Yes. We can deploy to your hosting, or recommend and set up hosting for you. There is no requirement to stay with us for hosting or support after launch.
Pricing and payment
Are the prices on the site fixed?
They are starting points for common projects. Your quote is a fixed price for your specific scope, and it does not change unless the scope changes and you approve it.
How does payment work?
Projects are invoiced in stages: a deposit to begin, one or more milestone payments on larger jobs, and a final payment on completion. Payment is made off-site by card, PayPal, Interac e-Transfer or bank transfer — never entered on this website. See the payments page for detail.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds and cancellations are covered by the refund and cancellation policy, and the specific terms are set out in your project agreement. If something is not right, the first step is always to tell us so we can fix it.
After launch
What happens after the site goes live?
You receive documentation and a walkthrough covering how to edit and run the site, plus full access to everything. From there you can manage it in-house, put it on a care plan, or come back for changes as needed.
What does a care plan cover?
Core, theme and dependency updates, off-site backups with a tested restore, uptime and error monitoring, a monthly allowance of content and layout changes, and an agreed response time. Plans are scoped to your site and quoted individually.
Do you support sites you did not build?
Often, yes. We start with an audit of the code, hosting and backups so we both understand the site's condition before a plan begins.
